The Human Resources Department ensures compliance with City personnel policies and procedures, City safety program and Civil Service rules and regulations, State and Federal Labor Law compliance, and other personnel-related questions and concerns. HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR
The Human Resources Department works with city departments to provide service to the City and the employees in numerous areas. The major areas covered by the Department are Staffing and Risk Management, Organizational & Employee Development, Compensation, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Benefits. The major functions of the Department include personnel records administration, training, and development, employee recruitment & selection, creation & evaluation of job descriptions, employee classifications, policy development, assessment, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, wage & benefit surveys. The Human Resources Department administers Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Workers Compensation reporting and monitoring, group insurance benefits selection & monitoring, and general liability issues, and other related duties and responsibilities.
