Weslaco Animal Care Services partnered with The Eatery in Downtown Weslaco to bring an Animal Adoption Event to life. It was held on Thursday May 18, 2023.
The Eatery in Downtown Weslaco is known for being Weslaco's very first outdoor food park, open dining area, and live music venue. Located at 400 S. Kansas, Weslaco, TX, it was the host of the event.
People were able to interact with the fellow animals brought in by the Animal Care Services Officers.
Cooper and Colt were excited when they played "Who Let the Dogs Out" by Baha Men.
Children interacted with puppies.
Cashew looks on, hoping to find a forever home.
Buster tries to run to the smell of bbq and lonches.
The following puppies were adopted:

Buster
Bud
Pumba, who went to a foster home.
One of the puppies, Lila, formerly known as Kelly had already an approved adopter family who were able to take her home that day. This was made possible by the "Fetch the Puppy Program," made in honor of a puppy by the name of Mr. Weenie. Mr. Weenie was a big part of Weslaco Animal Care Services.
He was the honorary Mayor of the City of Weslaco.
On a day of an adoption event, he got attacked by another dog and WACS took care of his wounds. Days later he contracted PARVO. Animal Care Officer Orellana took care of him until he got better and was transported to Tracy’s Paws Rescue where he awaits to find his forever home.
